What is on the unit 2 math exam...

Unit 2's math test is about number sense, place value, and data. Students will have their Green Math Folders and their Writing About Math notebooks to use as study tools.
  • Students will read large numbers aloud to the teacher.
  • Students will write numbers in standard form after they read the number written out as words.
  • Students will complete a Name Collection Box for a given number. For example, if I write "100" out as standard numbers, then in my Name Collection Box, I might write the following: one hundred, 10*10, 90+10, and the like.  Students will add and subtract 4 digits and 4 digits, such as 1,789 +9,087.
  • Students will estimate the answer before they "solve" for the answer of 1,789 +9,087.
  • Students will measure lines to the nearest centimeter and half centimeter.
  • Students will read a tally chart, write out the data set from that chart, and solve for range, median, and mode.
  • Students will fill in a bar graph with data that has been provided.
