Goals for our Solar System Studies
Dear Students,
Please make sure to finish the following before the pencil and paper assessments scheduled for Tuesday morning, the 29th of April.
1. Work with a few students to demonstrate the floor model for how the seasons work. You need the Solstice months, the Equinox months, the blow up earth, and the big sun in the middle of the floor. Use words from your taxonomy to explain what is happening. Remember to use BrainPop Jr. and BrainPop to watch videos about the seasons in order to enhance your understanding.
2. Sketch out the phases of the moon and label the phase with its proper name. Sketch one is the New Moon and it should look like a circle of dots because you cannot actually see the New Moon. Watch videos about the phases of the moon to enhance your learning.
3. Sketch out and create a key to help you remember the relative sizes of the planets. Remember the huge circle that represents Jupiter and the next smaller circle that represents Saturn. Use your color copy of the relative size of the planets to help you with your drawing.
4. Learn at least 3 facts about each planet and make sure it goes into your Google Spreadsheet. Embed this project into your blog.
5. Pay attention when we play Trash-ket-ball. Listen to the questions that your classmates miss and make sure you process the correct answers. This is a study tool.
6. Finish your taxonomy vocabulary Google Presentation and embed it into your blog. Run through your slides and study them before your exam.
7. Remember the memory device that is on the wall and make sure you can spell the names of the planets correctly. "Some Mondays..."
Happy Learning!
